Vanarsi Brocade Poly Silk Saree

Silk weaving : Silk weaving is part of an old and highly skilled tradition. Has significant status beacuse of its use during rituals. Varanasi is known for its superb weaving in gold and silver in a cariety of styles, colours and techniques. Traditional Varanasi silk saris are deep red with goldern Zari. Popular as bridal wear with gold mitifs all over the body, a heavy gold border and pallav. Main motifs are of birds, flowers, creepers, geometric paterns and also the famed Ashrafi Buti depicting the gold sovereign. Bracodes are silk textiles woven with extra warp and weft of different colours with gold and silver threads. Bracade patterns have poetic name like Chand Tara, Dhupchhaon, Morgala, and bulbul Chashm.
