We thoughtfully combine organic jute and woven ikat cotton to make these unique
coasters. They are delicately embroidered in kantha stitch in complementary colors
that highlight the 2 fabric combinations, and enhance their rustic elegance.
They are reversible, for a formal look with the jute side or a cheery ethnic look with
the fabric side. Jute has the unique property to absorb condensation without staining, hence these coasters are like no other, leaving no water mark behind! They come in an up cycled sari bag that is also sustainable & pretty, to keep them stacked, ready to use and always at hand! Ohrna is a social enterprise. We train women for free and then employ them to work from their homes. All our products are hand embroidered and handmade. Our collection celebrates heritage Indian craft, applied to contemporary products. Jute, a natural and strong vegetable fiber and Kantha embroidery, both native to east India are paired with Ikkat weaves from the southeast.
